Summary: Sarah Tolzien was an English teacher and varsity track coach at Rich South High School in the Chicago suburb of Richton Park. She was arrested in March of 2009 for criminal sexual assault after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student she coached. Authorities say the two sexual encounters occurred when Tolzien gave the boy a ride home after cross-country practice. The student's parents reported the affair after discovering sexually-oriented text messages from Tolzien on their son's cell phone. In April of 2009, she pleaded not guilty to eight counts of criminal sexual assault and 24 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. As of this writing, she is currently free on bail.
