Abby Johnson, Former Planned Parenthood Director, Turns Pro-Life

Abby Johnson was a director at a Planned Parenthood facility in Texas when she saw an abortion take place last month on an ultrasound. After that, she quit, saying, "I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart ... a spiritual conversion."

Once a pro-choice activist, Johnson has changed her tune and joined pro-life groups in praying outside the building where she once worked. According to FOX, Abby criticized Planned Parenthood for actually encouraging staff members to perform more abortions in order to increase profits (each procedure costs between $505 and $695). She said, "It's a very lucrative business and that's why they want to increase numbers."

Of course, there's more to Planned Parenthood than just abortions, and that's what a rep for the organization tried to emphasize. The group's media director said, "Nationwide, more than 90% of the health care Planned Parenthood affiliates provide is preventive in nature."

Still, Abby claims that her former employers encouraged her to increase the number of abortions performed. She's now affiliated with the Coalition for Life, a pro-life organization against which Planned Parenthood has a temporary restraining order.
