Alan Lander, aka the Winston Man, has died of throat and lung cancer, believed to be related to smoking, at 68. Landers was a model and actor who was the face of Winston cigarettes in the 1960s and early '70s. By the late '80s, Lander suffered from several illnesses he attributed to a lifetime of smoking.
