Teeth are not only important because of the major bodily functions they are a major part of the way you look. Your smile is one of the very first things that people notice about you. The first is called Endosteal. This type of implant is implanted into the bone. It is the implant that is most common. It is a screw that is placed in the jaw which holds prosthetic teeth. The teeth are simply screwed into it. Subperiosteal is another type of implant. This type of implant is implanted on the bone rather than in it. While it is less common, it is still very successful.
There are many advantages to getting implants put into your mouth. The first advantage is that they are like real teeth. Once they are put in they are just like all your other teeth and the difference cannot be told. It is as if they have always been there. Some people will wear dentures or retainers with their missing teeth on them.
These are annoying because they have to be taken out and cleaned regularly and they are harder to match to your teeth. You can usually tell when people have these. But with implants you can treat themjust like all your other teeth and care for them in the same way.
Implants are also good because they do not affect the teeth around them. They help all the teeth to keep their correct positioning. With other options such as bridges your teeth have to be adjusted to support the bridge. With implants your teeth are all kept in place and are supported by the implant. It is a much better way to go it you are speaking of your oral health.
A third reason that implants are so good is that they are very reliable. Implants have been tried and tested. Doctors are very confident when doing implants. They are not like some procedures that are new and difficult to determine the results of, they have been around awhile and doctors are confident with the results. If you are worried about getting implants because you are afraid of bad results, you should get rid of that fear.
Not only are the doctors confident, but a major majority of the people who get implants have no problems and love the results.
