The Skinny on Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher AKA “Princess Leia” wore a golden bikini or a slave girl outfit in the fourth and final Star Wars and almost immediately rose to pop culture icon status. In reality, Carrie was told to drop 10 pounds for Star Wars. At first, she failed miserably at losing weight but despite that draw back she ended up dropping the weight in time to squeeze into the tiny slave girl outfit.

She has since publicly scorned those who had pressured her to lose the weight.

I wonder how she finally lost the weight. Coke maybe?

Q. Why is losing weight so hard?

A. The idea behind weight loss is simple--burn more calories than you eat. This can be accomplished by replacing a couple of sodas with water and adding 20 minutes of walking each day. Sounds simple...and it is. If it's that simple, why can't we seem to do it?

There are a number of factors that contribute to our weight gain that you already know. But it's not just about finding time to exercise or choosing the salad over the burger--it's about genuine commitment to make healthy decisions every day....REGARDLESS of what's happening in your life. If you're not ready to make some changes, losing weight will be hard.
