(Getty Images)more pics »This week's TOO Hot Tuesday!! choice is English actor Jim Sturgess . . . currently appearing in the hit movie 21 . . . a film about 5 MIT students, who take Las Vegas casinos for hundreds of thousands of dollars by counting cards.

Jim's breakthrough role came in last year's brilliant ACROSS THE UNIVERSE playing the lead of role of Jude in director Julie Taymor's brilliant musical. Sturgess was very impressive belting out the tunes of The Beatles.

Jim is rumored to be up for the lead in Taymor's upcoming musical adaptation of SPIDERMAN which is headed to Broadway soon, with a musical score by U2's Bono (who, coincidentally, made a cameo appearance in ACROSS THE UNIVERSE).

Sturgess was born May 16, 1981. He grew up in Farnham, Surrey, 42 miles south-west of London and discovered performing, often using play practices as an excuse to skip classes. He is a former member of the National Youth Music Theatre (1993-95) and studied at the University of Salford's School of Media, Music and Performance. During that time he became a member of a seven member band, named the "Dilated Spies".
