The DNA test was conducted with some level of secrecy, and now the Enquirer reports that Edwards' and Hunter's lawyers are working out the details of child support. Edwards has consistenly claimed that he couldn't possibly be the father of Hunter's daughter, and that the real father is a friend and personal aide named Andrew Young . (Getty Images) The National Enquirer is reporting that John Edwards has told his wife, Elizabeth Edwards , that he is the father of Rielle Hunter 's child, the woman with whom he admitted to having an extramarital affair. According to the Enquirer , Edwards made the admission to prevent Hunter from going public with the information.
