Laura Silsby Sued for Unpaid Wages and Fees

Laura Silsby recently got in trouble with the law after she was busted for allegedly moving children out of Haiti without the consent of the government. But that's not the only trouble she's facing: Apparently the American missionary is also facing charges of unpaid wages and fees in Boise, Idaho, her hometown.
Laura Silsby is facing more charges in Idaho (Getty)According to NYTimes.com, Silsby is being sued by an ex-employee who says she failed to pay her, while a law firm is also suing her for unpaid fees. She's due in court next Wednesday, and again in March. The former employee's suit states that Silsby "repeatedly told plaintiff that she had investors ‘committed,’ that the money was being ‘wired,’ and that investors were going to be providing funds." Silsby is the founder of PersonalShopper.com.
Silsby has also been sued for missed payments four other times in the past three years.
Silsby made headlines earlier this week when she and a group of nine other missionaries tried to bring 33 children across the Haitian border without alerting the government. They said they had wanted to take the kids to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic, but some of the children had living parents. The group was charged with child abduction and criminal conspiracy.
