Variety had a little news brief that was passed along to me. It turns out the Leonard Nimoy isn’t only Trek alum that will reprising a role in the new JJ Abrams vision of Star Trek . Majel Barrett-Rodenberry will also reprise her role as the voice of the shipboard computer for The Enterprise. She has provided the regular voice of starship onboard computers for Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager . Majel Barrett Roddenberry passed away this morning, December 18, 2008, at 12:27 AM in her Bel Air home. Barrett Roddenberry was the widow of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, who boldly cast her as second-in-command of the USS Enterprise in the original 1964 Star Trek pilot.
