While
Twilight fans hoped for a story written from the perspective of
Robert Pattinson's character, Edward Cullen, the story never came to be after a manuscript was stolen in 2008.
The world was abuzz as news spread that Stephenie Meyer was working on a retelling of
Twilight, written from the perspective of vampire Edward Cullen. Yet, it never came.
You see, Meyer stopped work on the project after a draft was posted online without her permission. In other words, it was stolen. By who? We may never know. But it left her devastated enough to never again write the story.
Meyer has no plans to work on the novel at the moment, choosing to spend time with her family and on other writing projects, like perhaps a follow-up to her hit book,
The Host.
That said, if she were to start writing a book from Edward's point of view, we'd be the first to tell you.
