If I’ve got the story straight, it goes something like this: 4chan.org is subject to a DDOS attack. 4chan attempts to block the DOS, and in the process, unintentionally DOS’s one or more of ATT customers. theregister.co.uk ~ A website run by the conservative Tea Party movement was overrun by the denizens of 4chan on Tuesday. Website vulnerabilities on the official teaparty.org website allowed pranksters to divert surfers landing on the photo section of the site to smut and shock sites. It's unclear what website security shortcomings were exploited in that attack and whether these are now closed. Alright, so apparently last night or so, the folks over at 4chan.org ran into a situation where some girl posted nude pictures of herself, they proceeded to say some negative things, and she got all upset and cried. Now, I don't know the full story, but that seems to be it. And people are going nuts over it. Why? What's up with this "they've gone too far" nonsense? It seems that within hours of AT&T blocking 4chan, the site’s members had launched their attack on AT&T, including starting a rumor about the (fake) death of AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson geared to lower the company’s stock price.
