On Monday, I talked about my hobby of card making . On Wednesday, I explained my sport of choice, ultimate frisbee . Today, I'll talk about my obsession: bridge. Yesterday was our weekly bridge club. There are four of us in the group. Two have lived in this little town a very long time (one, all her life). Another and I came here five years ago. This is a very easy-going group. We play for the fun of the game and the camaraderie. We rotate between our homes. We start at 9:30 and end around lunchtime. This is something we all look forward to. I'm back from Las Vegas! Why was I there? Nope, it wasn't a sorority sister's bachelorette party. Nor was I there to get hitched or gamble. Instead, I was there for a bridge tournament . State Representatives Wayne Schmidt and Kevin Elsenheimer are asking the Michigan Auditor General to check into the status of college students who receive assistance from the Michigan Bridge Card.  The program currently provides cash and food assistance for those individuals who qualify.  College students are eligible for the food assistance portion but that's where the question of abusing the system comes into play.
