Director Danny Boyle 's next film will be the story of mountaineer Aron Ralston, famously trapped during a solo expedition for five days and left with no other alternative but to cut off his own arm to escape the situation. It's called 127 Hours , and there was talk Boyle was interested in Ryan Gosling for the role, but now he has apparently shifted his focus to a more known quantity. Film director Danny Boyle has chosen his follow up project to his surprise box office and Oscar hit Slumdog Millionaire. According to trade paper Variety Thursday, the British millionaire is to direct 127 Hours, a film about Aron Ralston, the American mountaineer who made headlines the world over when he used a knife to sever his own arm after it became trapped under a boulder during a 2003 hike. Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle is to make a film about the story of US mountaineer Aron Ralston. Ralston had his right forearm pinned for almost five days under a boulder during a climb in 2003. He then used a dull knife to amputate the limb and then scaled a 65-foot wall and hiked out before he found a family who gave him food and water. Boyle will be directing the movie and is now looking for an actor to play the lead.
