Eli Manning has confirmed on The Michael Kay Show on AM radio that he indeed has plantar fasciitis, a painful foot condition. He says it makes his foot "kind of tender," and seemed unsure whether he could play tomorrow if need be. It's not clear whether Eli Manning will be able to play this weekend against the Oakland Raiders. (Getty Images) Meanwhile, New York Giants team physician Russell Warren has cleared Manning to play this weekend against the Oakland Raiders, if he feels he can handle the pain. He's been officially listed on day-to-day status. It's an anxious time for the Giants, who have ... Read Full Story

Here’s a report from USA Today that details how Cooper Manning received about 25 phone calls from people offering different remedies for plantar fasciitis, the article is here . Here is the one Eli went with: It figures the remedy the Giants quarterback embraced to ease the soft-tissue injury was a suggestion from his former University of Mississippi trainer Tim Mullins to wear cowboy boots that elevated his heel. Cooper said of the referrals: “I got about 25 phone calls from people going, ‘You don’t know me. But I’m an attorney in the building here. I’m 75 years old, an avid tennis player and ... General manager Jerry Reese wants Plaxico Burress to wear a New York Giants uniform next season. He's just not sure it will happen. Reese, who attended the NFL's annual scouting combine Saturday, said he's planning for all scenarios, including keeping the suspended wide receiver who shot himself in the leg at a nightclub last season. "I hope he's motivated, but the legal process is what's most important right now and his health is what's most important right now," Reese said. "But we'll prepare as if he's not going to be here, and if he is, it's a bonus." Burress faces felony charges of criminal ... Read Full Story

Did the Giants violate the injury-reporting rules by failing to disclose that quarterback Eli Manning had been suffering from plantar fasciitis, an inflammation of tissue in the bottom of the foot? NFL spokesman Greg Aiello was asked that question and this was his response. “We asked the Giants for an explanation. We accept the distinction between plantar fasciitis as an irritation that is not a reportable injury versus a sprain, strain, fracture, dislocation, or in this case an injured plantar fascia that is reportable. As soon as the Giants took an MRI on Eli Manning’s foot and determined he had injured the plantar fascia, ... Read Full Story

With all of the obvious problems on defense, one thing that has upset me more than anything the past three games is the old Eli Manning making an appearance. He has not played very well at all, and what pains me the most is the poor decision making, which was something that we all thought was a thing of the past. In the game against the Saints, Manning apparently wanted to show off his arm in his home state. He went deep on third down six...
