(Getty Images) With a comfortable lead over the Raiders in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez had time to take a breather and maybe get his blood sugar up by quickly chowing down on a hot dog. The QB was caught by CBS cameras Sunday as he sat on the sidelines and spread mustard over his hot dog shortly before downing the thing in just a few bites. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez sprained his knee while sliding in last night's victory over the Buffalo Bills in Toronto. Since the game was played in Canada with Canadian medical personnel on hand, the country's healthcare system was required to perform the standard, mandated amputation of Sanchez's leg, just above the knee. "It's unfortunate that this game took place in Canada, and the most cost effective way to care for his knee was to cut his leg off," said Jets coach Rex Ryan, obviously frustrated. "If we had played this game in Buffalo, Mark could have probably just rehabbed with our athletic trainers, braced it ... Read Full Story

Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez was limited during the team’s light practice Monday with a sore left knee, but should play against the Buffalo Bills in Toronto on Thursday. Coach Rex Ryan said Sanchez had some soreness in the knee after he tweaked it in the Jets’ 17-6 win over Carolina on Sunday. Sanchez downplayed it, saying he woke up Monday and the knee was fine, showing no concern that it might hamper him. “It felt really good,” Sanchez said. “The training staff looked at it this morning, stretched me out and we went through the walkthrough, pretty seamless. It feels fine. We’ll see ... Read Full Story

Okay, I'll admit it. Two weeks ago, during Mark Sanchez's dreadful performance against the Patriots, where he threw four interceptions in a 31-14 Jets loss, I was calling for Sanchez to be benched.  And I'm sure I wasn't the only one who wanted this done. Sanchez clearly looked like he needed some time off, just to get his head clear.  After all, the pressure was getting to him so much that he was reading prepared statements during his press...
