A Newsweek cover photo of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has sparked a controversial debate. Republicans have spoken out against the Palin photo suggesting that the picture is untouched to emphasize Sarah Palin's " wrinkles, blemishes, pores and facial hair." Watch video on Fox News of the freakout by a Republican strategist who says that Newsweek retouched Barack Obama to look "presidential" while they deliberately made Sarah Palin look like "one of the folks." Watch Tina Fey parody Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live if you missed it.
Sarah Palin is on the cover of this week's Newsweek. A picture of the Newsweek Cover with the caption "She's one of the Folk" has drawn criticsm. Newsweek's Jon Meacham thinks that Governor Sarah Palin is too much a commoner and too stupid to be allowed to become vice president of the United States of America, reports News Busters. The piece begins starts by saying Palin won her debate. "Yes, she won the debate by not imploding. But governing requires knowledge, and mindless populism is just that--mindless." But it's not the content of the story that is the problem. It is the deliberate attempt to show a very beautiful woman in a bad light. Most cover photos are airbrushed and or touched up when someone's face is shown that close, unless of course you are a republican. source
