Terry Richardson’s controversial photography and porn art advertisements


The American photographer Terry Richardson was born in New York City in 1965, raised in Hollywood and Ojai California, and is the son of fashion photographer Bob Richardson.
Richardson has shot advertisements for fashion designers, including Hugo Boss, Anna Molinari, Stussy, Baby Phat, Jigsaw, Gucci, Levi’s, Miu Miu, Eres, Tommy Hilfiger, Club Monaco, Supreme, Costume National, Hysteric Glamour, Matsuda, and Sisley. Richardson has also shot editorial photographs for a Vogue, Vice, Harpers Bazaar, The Face, GQ and Sports Illustrated. He has exhibited in Japan, London, New York and Paris.

This ad by Terry Richardson for Tom Ford men’s perfume, appeared in GQ and Wallpaper magazine, was published with the agency Saatchi & Saatchi.
Of course, a few prudish people showed up immediately and complained; they thought the ad’s images were offensive, because they were too sexually explicit.
