"Tito" Ortiz aka "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" is an American mixed martial arts fighter from Huntington Beach, California. Born to an American mother and a Mexican father, he spent many nights in juvenile detention facilities as a child. At the age of 13 his mother separated from his father and moved Tito and his brothers from Santa Ana back to Huntington Beach. As a former Light Heavyweight UFC champion, Ortiz became one of the sport's biggest stars, headlining several pay per view championship cards, and appearing on the covers of various magazines, such as Black Belt Magazine. Ortiz is recognized as a charismatic, if controversial and highly-criticized fighter.

SUNRISE, Fla. -- High-profile free-agent light heavyweight Tito Ortiz will be cageside as a guest of EliteXC for tonight's CBS broadcast of "Heat." And while the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" recently revealed to MMAjunkie.com that he will be out of commission for the next six months, a deal may be signed this month to bring the former UFC champion to EliteXC. Ortiz eliminated Affliction and the American Fight League as possibilities for his future home, and he said a return to the UFC is just as unlikely given the type of contract he's demanding -- one he thinks could help other fighters while changing ...

The feud that Josh Koscheck and Diego Sanchez brought into last night’s UFC 69 event could soon have a match at UFC 73, thanks to main-card combatants Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans. The two light-heavyweight contenders, who meet on the Vegas fight card on July 7, had to be broken apart at last night’s festivities, according to a variety of eyewitnesses, including a couple UFCjunkie.com roving reporters who were on the scene. No punches were thrown, and the encounter consisted of little more than some yelling and chest-thumping. The two fighers were separated from the ringside encounter before anything especially newsworthy happened. Ortiz was ...

Former UFC heavyweight champ “Hammer” Mark Coleman (16-9) has apparently bailed on a light heavyweight match-up versus former 205-pound UFC champ “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz (15-6-1) at UFC 106 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas November 21.
“Coleman, Coleman, Coleman…to bad he sissies out,” Ortiz posted at Twitter Tuesday morning. “Who’s next? [...]
Mental note, don’t F*** with Mark Coleman’s manger Mike DiSabato, because if you do, you might be feeling like Tito Ortiz does right now. Last night, Ortiz Tweeted that the UFC Hall of Famer “sissie[d] out” of their UFC 106 fight due to a minor boo-boo. Today, DiSabato went on a verbal assault against “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy.” One that UFC president Dana White would have been proud of. “Mark Coleman is not a talker, he is a...
As controversial as the UFC 104 judges’ unanimous decision in favor of Fighters.com and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion “Dragon” Lyoto Machida (16-0) over seemingly obvious victor, now-third-ranked “Shogun” Mauricio Rua (18-4), was among North American MMA fans, nothing compares to the heat over the fight among Brazilian MMA fans.
Rua confounded and flustered Machida with kicks [...]
A not-unpleasant thought occurred to me when I was writing about UFC 104's main event between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua.
To appreciate just how dominant the Dragon has quietly become, you must take a closer look at his resume.
Once you do that, you realize he's dispatched some of the brighter names in the light heavyweight business—Rashad Evans (knockout), Thiago Silva (KO), Tito Ortiz (unanimous decision), B.J. Penn (UD), Rich Franklin...
1. Will Anthony "Rumble" Johnson make weight this afternoon?
Johnson is probably the biggest welterweight fighter in the UFC next to Thiago Alves. Can he cut down to 171 pounds today when he and his opponent Yoshiyuki Yoshida tip the scale? 2. Can Shogun Rua do what 15 other opponents were not able to do and that is to beat UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida?
Rua is a huge underdog going into tomorrow's main event fight. 3. Will...
Welterweight Josh Koscheck has announced via Twitter that he'll be co-headlining UFC 106 on November 21 in Las Vegas.
An opponent has not yet been announced for the bout, a late-addition to bolster the card currently headlined by Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin after losing Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin, its original main event, on Monday. One potential opponent, Matt Hughes, has reportedly turned down the short-notice matchup, with Anthony...
