Let's Roll - The Inspiring Book

By LisaPeony on  From inspiretothrive.com
This Sunday will be the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and I wanted to share an inspiring book I have read called "Let's Roll" by Lisa Beamer. I found Lisa to be so inspiring as she was able to speak about the tragedy she just suffered in front of cameras. Lisa was everywhere on TV talking about the tragedy. President George W. Bush even introduced Lisa Beamer to the country during his address to Congress on Sept. 20, 2001 . Five months pregnant at the time of the attacks, Lisa Beamer came to...Read Full Story

Remembering the Victims of 9/11

By astronomyquest on  From andromedachild.blogspot.com
Today, September 11, 2011 is a special day.  It's exactly ten years since the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York were callously attacked by terrorists and over 3,500 people were murdered.  ANDY FLEMING concludes that the victims of 9/11 did not die in vain and freedom prevailed, and that everyone who believes in civilisation and the victory of the ballot box over the bomb should remember Al Queda's victims today . At 8.46am New York time on the morning of September 11, 2001 the...Read Full Story

Lisa and Todd Beamer and "Flight 93"

By kpurfield on  From maintainwealth.blogspot.com
The tip of the flight 93 path is pointing towards Lake Erie and Cleveland Ohio. What is the significance of that? What would be the significance of programing computers to display that path pattern? UA 93 flight path from New Jersey to Pennsylvania - there was no airplane crash in Shankville, Pennsylvania. The flight path was contrived. Notice it's shape resembles that of a knife or shank as it would be called in Ground was broken for construction of The Pentagon on September 11, 1941...Read Full Story

9/11 10th Anniversary: Let’s take a moment to remember those lives lost

By BazB on  From international.fashionbzaar.net
In a matter of hours, it will be the 10th anniversary of the day that changed the U.S forever. Lives were taken, loved ones were killed, and hero’s were truly made out of those who deserved such a title.  As a nation, we’ve in our own separate ways dealt with the velocity of heart-break that 9/11 brought us, and this year we’ve taken quite a bit of time to commemorate those who risked their lives to save the rest of us. Hundreds of destinations, one plane, forty lives. We will now take a...Read Full Story

Todd Morgan Beamer (November 24, 1968 – September 11, 2001) was a passenger aboard United Airlines Flight 93 who has been called a "hero" for his actions in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Beamer attended Los Gatos High School, Wheaton Academy, DePaul University, California State University, Fresno and Wheaton College. In September 2001, he was an account manager for Oracle and resided in Cranbury, New Jersey, with his wife, Lisa Beamer, and two sons, David and Drew. His daughter, Morgan Kay, was born January 9, 2002, four months after Beamer's death.

After United 93 was hijacked, Beamer and other passengers communicated with people on the ground via in-plane and cell phones, and learned that the World Trade Center had been attacked using hijacked airplanes. Beamer tried to place a credit card call through a phone located on the back of a plane seat but was routed to a customer-service representative instead, who passed him on to GTE supervisor Lisa Jefferson. Beamer reported that one passenger was killed and, later, that a flight attendant had told him the pilot and co-pilot had been forced from the cockpit and may have been wounded. He was also on the phone when the plane made its turn in a southeasterly direction, a move that had him briefly panicking. Later, he told the operator that some of the plane's passengers were planning to "jump on" the hijackers. According to Jefferson, Beamer's last audible words were "Are you guys ready? Let's roll."

Beamer's phrase "Let's roll" was widely cited and later became a battle cry for those fighting Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

At least three facilities have been named for Beamer: a post office in Cranbury, New Jersey, Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, Washington, and the Todd M. Beamer Student Center at Wheaton College.

Beamer was posthumously awarded with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award in 2002.
