So here I am facing another Valentine’s Day. Single. Everywhere I look all I can see are red heart balloons and flowers held by happy, smiling lovers. Beautiful. I just want to puke.
Okay, a little over dramatic, but this holiday today can be somewhat daunting when you do not have someone to love.
It just dawned on me, however, that I do have love in the greatest way in my life. I have it in four beautiful people named Annette, Rachel, Andrew and Clarissa. These are my children... Read Full Story

When I think of romantic love , I think of stories that my mother would tell me of her own mother and father – my grandmother and and grandfather. I knew my grandmother. Rosario Castro Camacho Domingo. We called her Grandma Charo . As a child I loved her warm hugs. She also was a great cook. My siblings , cousins and I would salivate to and love eating her homemade baked goods .
We would be playing around her house and the smell of newly baked doughnuts or cookies would be wafting... Read Full Story

So, I was having a kind of down week because I was sick. Then after some days of rest, I ventured out Friday night into the Castro which is nicknamed by my friends, Oz. There is a reason for this when you look at the over the rainbow kind of adventures we have had in this place. I love the Castro. It is simply a two block walk into the main area where the clubs and bars reside.
I decided to catch up with friends at Toad Hall which is where my friends normally gather to get their drink... Read Full Story

What is good sometimes about being under the weather for a couple of days and being stuck at home is having time to think. There is something really great about taking the clutter and distraction out of one’s mind. You find yourself getting centered. Your body heals and in some ways your soul does, also.
In this month when romantic love is celebrated and will crescendo on February 14th, I admit wholeheartedly that my search most of my life has been for that wonderful love. I have had a... Read Full Story

We live in a social media culture where in the last few years, we have built online friendships across national, political and religious boundaries communicating on a daily basis about the smallest details of life. We have shared with people we have never met, pictures of our lives, our likes and dislikes, our locations and even our heartbreaks.
Some of these people we know Face to Face. Whether we have met them personally or not, we probably know these friends a lot more intimately then... Read Full Story

In one of my networking business group meetings today, a health professional colleague gave this wonderful presentation on her services that targets overall well being and the reduction of stress. It was filled with good information. As I went along my day, I thought about some of my best stress relievers. That movie musical from the sixties which featured the fantastic Dick Van Dyke came to mind , Chitty Chitty Bang Bang . It is a fanciful tale with some catchy tunes that still are...
