Hi there! We just released a new design on Zimbio. You'll noticed that each zine now has a set of tabs across the top to let you navigate from the front page to articles, news, pictures, polls, or other sections.

A Few Words On Our Interviews

There’s been some curiosity around our celebrity interviews. How do we get them? Who does them? Who else are we interviewing? Can we put them in touch with Cameron Diaz?

Many of our interviews are conducted by a red carpet lothario named Fred Topel. Fred lives in Los Angeles and is the darling of the Hollywood publicity machine. He’s also a really good guy. So he does many of our celebrity interviews at either the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton or some other swank hotel. Occasionally, he’ll fly to New York, Las Vegas or even Europe, if it’s a big name celebrity.

The format, many times, is what’s called a “round table” interview. That is, he and a couple other writer goons are at a table with whoever and each gets a turn asking questions. Of course there are the one-on-one interviews as well as the big conference style junkets. Remember that movie Knotting Hill where Julia Roberts is being interviewed in that hotel ball room by all those journalists? Fred goes to those sometimes, too.

We have much in the hopper, interview-wise. Some will be A-listers but I want to showcase some lesser known celebrities-to-be as well. We’ll try to stick with the more interesting ones though.

John and his team will feature the very best reads across the Zimbio network… no small job now that more than 10,000 volunteer writers are actively posting on the site.

Prior to joining us, John was Editor-in-Chief at The Wave Magazine. The Wave is a pop-culture magazine, covering movies, music, nightlife, art, dining, travel and lots more.

Zimbio tops 3,000,000 monthly visitors

Zimbio keeps on growing. According to Google Analytics, over 3,000,000 unique visitors came to Zimbio in December 2007. Many thanks to all of the Zimbio editors and bloggers who have been writing thousands of articles each day.

A bunch of new zines popped in December. Last month, we read about ladies golfer Anna Rawson making the LPGA , the latest XBox release for Halo 3 , new long layered hairstyles , Britney's little sister Jamie Lynn Spears , the latest scandals including news anchor Alycia Lane and Olympic swimmer Laure Manaudou , and crime stories including the Alton Beasley and Jocelyn Kirsch cases.

Looks like January is off to a good start, with lots of energy in politics including coverage of the Iowa Caucuses and NH Primaries.

We're looking forward to an exciting 2008.
