A wrist injury has forced tennis player Anna Kournikova to miss the rest of the World Team Tennis (WTT) season, the organization announced this week. WTT officials said that the former world number eight made the decision after experiencing pain during a practice session and that she has not responded to therapy or to a series of cortisone shots. The 2009 season would have been the Russian’s 7th season with WTT. World Team Tennis said Kournikova made her decision after experiencing pain from tenosynovitis while practicing for what would have been her seventh season with the league.
