Wallpaper as a backsplash is generally considered to be old-fashioned, but with the right choice it can look fantastic. Check out some pictures:


This black and white tree wallpaper is modern and cool, with plenty of visual interest. In fact, I saw it featured on HGTV's Color Splash with David Bromstad. Great look!


I love this bright, graphic wallpaper as a backsplash (even though they didn't do a great job of matching the pieces together).


For a more cottage style approach, try a pastel or floral design.
