I LOVED this show! Carolina Herrera’s designs are always beautiful and elegant. This collection was no different. What was different was her audience. I often think her pieces are perfect for 30+ socialites who attend many black tie affairs. This collection, however, was almost ageless and offered many pieces suitable for everyday wear . Even the evening gowns were downplayed with blazers, shrugs and scarves. Rachel Zoe commented on how the collection shows Carolina Herrera is designing for ‘every woman’. This season’s collection was inspired by the Renaissance artist Botticelli’s paintings and included many floral, muted, and beautiful tones. Carolina Herra’s designs date back to the 1970s and 80s. That’s how amazingly iconic this lady is. She even dressed Caroline Kennedy Onasis in her later life. She is a mother, one of the best dressed women in the world, and dresses some of the best dressed women in the world. Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2009 runway show at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week was spectacular. It was full of dazzling colors, couture styles, and great accessories. Here are a few of my favorite styles from the show and what I thought about them. Excuse me miss, I think your dress is falling down. Or, is that just the style? I haven’t decided if I completely appreciate the slouchy arms, but I do love the copper jewel tone of the dress. I’d also be afraid of by boob falling out of the dress, but who wouldn’t?
