By Beaker I’d like to comment on a couple of things: St. Jeter and Horny Woods. Heard a celebrity PR, damage control expert (now there’s a gig. Like being a “life coach.” I gotta tell ya, if you need a coach to make you live you have problems. I digress) make the following assertion about the useless Tiger Woods story: “You have to remember good people do bad things.” That seems like a reasonable thing to say. But after you let the fumes of the paint primer exit your brain, you come to the realization it’s a silly line of thinking. Good people don’t ... Read Full Story

Shortstop Derek Jeter #2 of the New York Yankees looks on before the game against the Seattle Mariners June 30, 2009 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx borough of New York City. (Getty Images) more pics » Derek Jeter broke perhaps the most coveted Yankee Stadium record tonight when he passed Lou Gehrig for the most hits ever recorded in the big ballpark in the Bronx. Gehrig, for all those wondering, was tied with Jeter in the same exact number of at-bats. Nevertheless, the feat comes in a season where it's easy to forget how consistently good the Yankees shortstop and Captain has been ... Read Full Story

At Blackdog Press we are very busy fellows. "What happens is I make a very big mistake early on. I'm so amped up about getting into the action and being able to use my gun — I'm being groomed as a homicide cop, but I have to do details like most cops do — and they put me in Yankee Stadium for game seven of the World Series. I'm looking for [suspicious characters], and this guy comes running out of the tunnel with a baseball bat. I'm like, 'Holy shit! This is a restricted area, and...

Much concern with the Yankees right now centers around the need to sign Johnny Damon to fill the number two hole behind Derek Jeter. Curtis Granderson is not a good two hitter because he strikes out too much. But if Damon is not resigned, there is not as much to worry about. The Yankees already have the perfect man for the job. Robinson Cano would fit very nicely behind Jeter in the lineup. In fact, looking at the 2009 numbers he looks better...

New Yorkers don't really care about Derek Jeter's girlfriend Minka Kelly, as long as the Yankee captain is doing well (which was this case this past season), but a Starbucks barista in Tampa Bay claims that she's a pain in the ass. Writing to Gawker, the barista explains, "Minka came up to order. She looks harmless enough but when she opens her mouth? Yeah, not so much. by Tom FornelliFiled under: Yankees, AL East, MLB AwardsIt's been a pretty incredible year for New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.
