Getty Images Ukraine's family, youth and sports minister, Yuri Pavlenko has had a change of heart in terms of Elton John's adoption bid. He had previously said Elton was too old and too homosexual to adopt 14-month-old Lev from the country (the Ukraine doesn't recognize same-sex unions), but for whatever reason, Pavlenko corrected himself yesterday. British singer and pianist Elton John has postponed a string of concert dates due to a serious infection and flu, according to his official website. John, 62, has now delayed three concerts with Billy Joel in the US next month as well as the final few dates of his Red Piano world tour in Britain and Ireland which had previously been put on hold. Promoters "were informed by management that Elton has been advised by his doctor to postpone these performances due to a serious case of e-coli bacterial infection and influenza," his website said. Sir Elton John is out of hospital and is feeling ”fine” after being struck down with a bout of flu and an E.coli bacterial infection. Sir Elton’s spokesman said the Rocket Man singer, 62, had checked out late on Wednesday night and was planning to resume his tour. The spokesman said: ”He’s fine, absolutely fine.” He plans to play scheduled US dates with Billy Joel starting in Oakland, California, on November 14. Sir Elton has postponed gigs in Sheffield, Newcastle, London, Liverpool and Dublin since October 23, when he contracted flu.
