John Rhys-Davies news, related photos and videos, and reviews of John Rhys-Davies performances. According to Wikipedia: John Rhys-Davies is a Welsh actor. Although he has dozens of films to his credit, Rhys-Davies is probably best known for portraying Professor Maximillian Arturo in the TV series Sliders and for his characters in the two blockbuster film series: Sallah in the Indiana Jones films, and the dwarf Gimli in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He also voiced "Man Ray" in the "Spongebob Squarepants" television series. He is known as a character actor and generally plays minor but interesting roles.

Nevertheless, there were discussions to bring the color Rhy-Davies back, presumably to play Gloin. "I've already been asked and to be honest with you, I wouldn't. I have already completely ruled it out," the actor said. "There's ...

Nobody tosses a dwarf — not even "Lord of the Rings" actor John Rhys-Davies, who recently declared that he won't be throwing himself back into dwarven garb anytime soon, despite offers to the contrary.
In an interview with Empire, Rhys-Davies revealed that he has been approached about appearing in "The Hobbit," the Guillermo del Toro-directed and [...]
John Rhys-Davies told Empire magazine that he has been asked to return for The Hobbit and it's sequel , but has declined. He played Gimli in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and could have perhaps played his father, Gloin, as Gimli doesn't appear in "The Hobbit."
"I've already been asked and to be honest with you, I wouldn't," Rhys-Davies said. "I have already completely ruled it out. There's a sentimental part of me that would love to be...
Nope. Not a chance. Despite the fact that there are at LEAST twelve dwarves in The Hobbit, and John Rhys-Davies got off a three-film stint playing Gimli, he will NOT be appearing in The Hobbit.
There was some word he’d play Gimli’s father, who apparently figures in pretty heavily in this story, but Rhys-Davies himself was [...]

The star, who played grumpy dwarf Gimli in the original trilogy, was offered to play the role of his father Gloin in the next flick.
However, he has refused to do [...]
Thanks to many of you who sent in this story from Empireonline.com. I’m sure we’ll all miss John as part of The Hobbit cast. From Empireonline.com: John Rhys-Davies was, of course, Gimli the dwarf in The Lord of the Rings, and gave the series many of its funniest and most memorable moments. And while Gimli [...]
