Landon Donovan held a press conference today (along with Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena) after his first training session with the team since finishing his loan to Bayern Munich. It was a bittersweet event because although Donovan said he was happy to be back you could tell he wanted to latch on permanently with the German team. The complicating factor was that he was not a free agent but under contract to MLS, which would have naturally demanded a large transfer free for him. "If I had been (available for) free I think things would have been different," he said. "It became an economic matter ... Read Full Story

Landon Donovan scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to give the Los Angeles Galaxy a 2-2 tie with D.C. United on Sunday in the MLS opener for both teams. Christian Gomez and Chris Pontius scored for D.C. The squads are set in Europe now until January 7, alas, I'm still in LA because I suck & my 1st 2 attempts in Europe found me coming home a complete & utter failure. When I say I suck, I want you to understand how badly I suck... really badly. That said, I did get 2 sweet goals this past weekend, but in the MLS shouldn't really count. Here is how the final day of transfers went: Chelsea : lost out in their bid for Brasilian ... Read Full Story

Something for everyone here. Galaxy fans can console themselves with some great strikes (Brandon McDonald's screamer is not the No. 1 goal in this video); Chivas USA fans can savor these and look forward to the playoffs; U.S. fans can relive Landon Donovan's finest season; and the Columbus Crew's Robbie Rogers today had his effort against New York last month named the team's goal of the season. Enjoy. Read Full Story
