What Happened To The Brat Pack In Celebrity News?

Do you remember The Brat Pack? They were a group of young actors and actresses that became famous in the 1980s, and they usually appeared in films together. Popular films that featured the Brat Pack were St. Elmos Fire and The Breakfast Club. The actors and actresses were: Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Andrew McCarthy, Ally Sheedy, Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Mare Winningham, James Spader, Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Cryer. At times, names like Mathew Broderick, John Cusack and Tom Cruise were also mentioned as being part of the Brat Pack.

The name Brat Pack is a nickname that was given to the group, it was a play on the RAT PACK from the 1950s and 1960s. The Rat Pack were actors such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop who appeared in films together. They also did have female actresses that were part of the Rat Pack. They included Shirley MacLaine, Lauren Bacall, Angie Dickinson, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland.

So where are they now? What happened to them? What are they doing?

What she did then: She was the troubled pretty girl in the Brat Pack  ensemble St. Elmo's Fire. She was the Packs biggest star, and was Hollywood's highest-paid female actress

Where she is now: She took a break from acting after her break-up with ex-husband Bruce Willis, and raising her  three daughters. She now returned to acting and married Ashton Kutcher who is almost 16 years younger than her.

Every guy loved Molly in the 80s.  Every movie she was in there was a guy totally in love with her. In the movies she won the hearts of  Jake (Michael Shoeffling) in "Sixteen Candles",  Bender (Judd Nelson) in "Breakfast Club", Duckie (Jon Cryer) and  Blane (Andrew McCarthy) in "Pretty in Pink".

Where she is now: Her film career slowed down. She turned down the lead roles in "Ghost" and "Pretty Woman". (How dumb was that?)  She earned an MTV Award nod for her cameo in "Not Another Teen Movie" and recently had rave reviews as Charity Valentine in the national tour of the musical "Sweet Charity".

What he did then: He was the geek in the 1980s. A nerdy kid who  becomes cool in  Sixteen Candles, "Breakfast Club and Weird Science. Then he got better, tougher roles in  Johnny Be Good and Edward Scissorhands.

Where he is now: In 1999 he did a TV movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley".  His career resurfaced again in 2002 when his TV series "The Dead Zone took off".  He has also appeared in The Dark Knight".

What he did then: All the ladies loved him, Ally Sheedy in "St. Elmo's Fire", and got Molly Ringwald in "Pretty in Pink". He was the one who tried to get Robert Downey Jr. to quit drugs in "Less Than Zero". He was a riot in "Weekend at Bernie's".

Where he is now: 2008 is where Andrew seems to be making it big again. He's starred in the  high-profile fantasy epic "The Spiderwick Chronicles", and also stars with Brooke Shields in "The Lipstick Jungle".

Where is he now: In 1996 he was in a starring role on NBC sitcom "Suddenly Susan" for a four season run. In 2001 he appeared in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". Throughout the 1990s and 2000s he mostly  appeared in television roles and low budget films, and also acts on stage.

What he did then: Charlie Sheen's older brother. Played a tough greaser in  "The Outsiders", a wrestler in "The Breakfast Club",  and an obsessed Georgetown grad in "St. Elmo's Fire". He was Demi Moore's fianc in real life.

What he did then: He was the bad guy of  the '80s teen movies.  A snob Steff in "Pretty in Pink". A bad influence Rip in "Less Than Zero". The star of  "Sex, Lies and Videotape" where he won Best Actor at Cannes.

What he did then: He was Ian in "Weird Science". He starred with Molly Ringwald in "The Pick-Up Artist". He became a crack-addict in "Less Than Zero". Then he got involved with drugs.
