"I did rule the death a homicide," Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said. "We did determine through autopsy that it was a live birth and that there was nothing else to suggest why the baby's death occurred. "In Pennsylvania, the coroner's requirement for homicide is death of a person at the hands of another. That is what was determined. Earlier this summer, police found a newborn baby in a plastic bag in Teri Rhodes' apartment in Erie, PA.
When questioned by police, Teri said that she didn't know she was pregnant.
Police confiscated her laptop and found that Teri had done a number of Internet searches for topics such as "what can kill a fetus" and "terminating pregnancy."
The official autopsy report says that the baby girl was alive when she was born and died of "asphyxiation".Read Full Story

Teri Rhodes is an 18 year old girl who is accused of killing her own baby. Rhodes tried to conceal her pregnancy and birth while at Mercyhurst College. When the baby was born, she suffocated the baby.
