Last night, FC Barcelona came back from an 0-1 deficit with a late goal from Iniesta to advance to the Champions League final. In the final few moments as Chelsea frantically tried to score another goal, Michael Ballack took a shot that hit off the upper arm/shoulder area of a Barcelona defender. As the ball was cleared out, the Chelsea midfielder and German international began screaming at referee Tom Henning Ovrebo over what he thought was a blantant handball. This was just one of the controversial plays the Norwegian referee has been criticized by writers, fans, commentators, and the Chelsea players. The key question ... Read Full Story

Didier Drogba on Thursday apologised for his furious confrontation with referee Tom Henning Ovrebo in the wake of Chelsea's stormy Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Barcelona. The fallout from Didier Drogba’s hilarious wild-eyed rant at referee Tom Henning Ovrebo continues to build. The striker’s spectacular explosion following Chelsea’s Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona looks like having far-reaching consequences. Not only did the Ivorian make a fool out of himself (there’s something rather undignified about losing the plot wearing a pair of flip-flops - think angry holiday resort guest) but he is also set to be slapped with a hefty European ban. The length of any possible suspension is currently estimated at anything from six games to six months, but it was Drogba’s reaction in the dressing room after ... Read Full Story

Tom Henning Ovrebo, in complete control, as usual Chelsea lost to Barcelona via referee Tom Henning Ovrebo and Barcelona's Andres Iniesta today. After the game, Didier Drogba labelled the official from Norway a "disgrace." That's actually quite funny, considering Drogba was red carded last year in the Champions League final - probably costing Chelsea the title. Furthermore, the tosser received a three match ban earlier this year for violent conduct. Oh, and he's a better diver than Tom Daley. So, deplorable officiating aside, who's the disgrace again?
