Dutch attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder has been given the all-clear to play in Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Scotland following an ankle injury. It had been feared that Sneijder had suffered a break, but the injury is not as serious as first feared and was simply a case of strained ligaments, medical sources close to the Dutch team said. Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder is a doubt for his side's World Cup qualifying match in Scotland on Wednesday after picking up an ankle injury in the 3-0 friendly win over Japan at the weekend. Real Madrid announced Friday the transfer of Dutch international midfielder Wesley Sneijder to Inter Milan. "Real Madrid and Inter Milan have reached an agreement to transfer the player Wesley Sneijder to the Italian club," it said in a statement. It did not mention the transfer fee, but Spanish media said it was around 15 million euros. Sneijder joined Real from Ajax in the summer of 2007 on a five-year deal worth 27 million euros.
