Michael Strahan, captain of the Super Bowl XLII team, visited the Giants at practice Friday for the first time since his retirement. As the team huddled after practice, Tom Coughlin gave Strahan a chance to speak, something he wasn’t expecting.
“It was a surprise,” said the Giants’ all-time leader in games played (216) and sacks (1411/2). “Coughlin pulled me to the middle of the circle and he stepped back. I’m thinking, ‘What are you... Read Full Story

The Giants couldn’t be healthy for this long. Moments ago, the Giants announced that Antonio Pierce is out indefinitely after a MRI revealed a bulging disc in his neck. Here’s what Pierce had to say:
”I’m shocked with what I heard from the doctors this afternoon..had no idea what happened a few weeks ago could keep me off the field.
No word on how long indefinitely means. His replacement was not announced, but I would suspect it to be Chase Blackburn. This is a huge... Read Full Story

Game #9: Saints 28, Rams 23
* Upon further review: The home crowd wanted a lot of calls today we didn’t get. Unfortunately for us, Gene Steratore and crew got the calls right. We wanted a fumble when David Thomas got flipped and lost the ball. His arm hit the ground first, though. Wanted DPI on that weird cross-field throw to McMichael that Roman Harper broke up. Well, Harper was playing the ball. Wanted roughin... Read Full Story

Allen Iverson seems to be running out of options as the New York Knicks have now broken off talks with him according to “ESPN.com.” New York Team President Donnie Walsh told reporters that the club reached the decision late Thursday night not to pursue the free agent guard. Iverson was waived earlier this week by the Memphis Grizzlies after the player and the team could not see eye to eye on whether the All-Star would be a starter or come off the bench. The veteran signed a one ... Read Full Story

It seems too easy to pile on Al Davis and the Oakland Raider Asylum; that bit has done before, so we’ll just skip it altogether.
Instead, the focus this week for the Bengals is preparing for the best thing the Raiders have going for them: their location.
Every week it seems Cincinnati is issued a new challenge to disprove the Same-Old-Bengals Theory. For Week 11, the challenge is to show they can travel to the West Coast and win.
In a sense, flying to Oakland is the practice-... Read Full Story

Just when the Milwaukee Bucks were getting hot and making noise in the Eastern Conference, they received a bit of bad news as according to the Associated Press, center Andrew Bogut will be sidelined from anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks with a left leg injury.
An MRI confirmed the injury on Thursday; Bucks general manager John Hammond said that Bogut suffered the injury during Milwaukee’s win against New Jersey Wednesday, leaving the game in the fourth quarter. Prior to the injury, Bogut ... Read Full Story

Come with me on a stroll down memory lane, fellow Bears fans…
Flashback to February 2007….
Your Bears were fresh off a Super Bowl season. They headed into the offseason with a lame duck head coach signed only through the upcoming season. National pundits and fans were outraged at the possibility that the first coach to take the Bears to the Super Bowl in 20+ years could actually walk away a season later!
Well, the dude calling the shots did not let that happen. Jerry Angelo did what everyone... Read Full Story

After a bye week that was hopefully restful and rejuvenating, the Giants are back at it, hoping to get back on the winning track against the 5-4 Falcons. This game is not only important for the confidence of the Giants, but the Falcons are a competitor for a Wild Card spot. A win goes a long way towards securing that spot.
1. Aaron Ross

It could come to this. Two Aaron’s with practically the same last name, amid a field of Johnson’s no less… could be fighting for a starting safety spot that has been arguably vacant since Kenny Phillips was placed on injured reserve in week 3.
According to The Blue Screen, Ross has been working out with the team and looking fresh but instead of simply lining up at cornerback he’s been moved over to a safety-like position – perhaps due to the shortage of playmake... Read Full Story

Despite the obvious issues with the play that knocked him out, there appears to be some good news about the outcome of the hit on Josh Cribbs from Monday night. Today, coach Eric Mangini said he expects Cribbs to play when the Browns go against the Lions on Sunday.
Cribbs was strapped to a backboard and carted off the field after the last play of the Browns’ 16-0 loss to Baltimore on Monday night. He was briefly hospitalized with a possible neck injury and concussion. “I anticipate Josh pla... Read Full Story
