Happy Gay Pride, New York City!  Sunday is the official Gay Pride Day in Manhattan featuring an elaborate and colorful parade down 5th Avenue and topped off with an over-the-top dance on the pier in Chelsea. We thought this picture was fun and colorful, and while we aren't exactly encouraging everyone to rip off their shirts and head into the streets... we believe it is perfectly okay for any real man who looks like this cartoon to do so! Please take a moment and act with class while you're... Read Full Story

NIGHTLIFE While one venue was closing its door, many others were keeping them open extra late on Friday night as Gay Pride weekend kicked off in New York City. As nearly 3am, the management at Club Rush (known for its twinkie parties) was still regulating the crowd outside and clearing the line off Sixth Avenue. Our friends over at the new hot spot, Trip (formerly Elevate), were packed with papis from Louis Loca's insane Uncut Friday party where Reina performed.  The place was packed with... Read Full Story

This photo, ripped from former View promoter Jonny Mack's Facebook page, opens a can of worms. Why would a New York gay establishment with such a long shelf life closed down during Gay Pride without warning? View Bar had a highly promoted rundown planned for the weekend, but that all seems to be out the door... literally. We've got a team of... Read Full Story

SHOT OF THE DAY It's Gay Pride Week in New York City, so the Village Voice has released their annual "Queer Issue".  The funny thing is that it features three of the guys who are followed by the "Jersey Shore" cameras and consequently identify as straight men. Cabaret Review: "Alan Cumming"

by Jonathan Warman A room like Feinstein’s at the Regency tests the mettle of a singer; some of the most powerful singers of our time – Christine Ebersole, Betty Buckley, Ann Hampton Callaway, Marilyn Maye and Feinstein himself – have done major shows here, and it's also where the legendary Rosemary Clooney did her last New York shows, as did Kitty Carlisle Hart. Taking that stage must be a little intimidating. If Alan Cumming is intimidated, he sure doesn't show it. He is easily one of the... Read Full Story
Theatre Review: "Nunsense"

by Jonathan Warman Nunsense creator Dan Goggin more or less stumbled on the idea of writing a comic musical about nuns in the early 1980s and it's clear that he has a knack for making affectionate fun of the sisters. And that's really all Nunsense is, affectionate, harmless, silly fun – diverting, for sure, but not a millimeter deeper than that. The show follows five nuns from the Little Sisters of Hoboken, who put on a benefit for burial costs when one of their own, a terrible cook named... Read Full Story
