Another massive film show hits in town for the trades this time where all the studios are pawning their wears, and trying to get deals for films both big and small. AFM allows investors to wax lyrical and find some returns. All sorts on display with films not even in production. Next year go, for this year you could have invested in the new Rambo, a random Bruce Willis flick (more than likely), and a film by the Mandylor brothers. (Like a couple of Greek Chuck Norris's!) Loads of deals struck... Read Full Story
The posts on blogs come like buses, none for a while then two in a short space of time. I may have said that before but we cant deny the reality of it!Firstly had to show you crazy kids the wonderful trailer that is “Cup of Tears”, really it looks as if it was a heavy blue screen trailer that shows us how a martial arts film should be done. The nice twist at the end of the trailer gives a clue that the film will either be amazing or completely banzai. Regardless I shall grab the DVD as it wil... Read Full Story
In the busy world we live in we forget the old fashioned ways, going to the shops to browse (although in this recession it returns with aplomb), all meeting in the town to chat, rather than texting and emailing. (I can remember the days before the mobile phone you know), and in my case I forgot my love of reading; too caught up in internet chat, and bubble gum news, and all the things that make the internet spin on it's ever increasing axis.So what do I do? Well i'll tell ya!I take some weeks... Read Full Story
I haven’t done a simple news post in a while, as there are so many good news sources on the internet. All the smaller web writers and site managers get emailed from PR companies at around the same time. The website to break the news is generally the one with the quickest typist or run by the person who sleeps the smallest amount of time!Regardless, we have to stay in touch and let all the avid readers (thank you) know some news on the movie world, and as always please keep in contact, it’s a... Remake again, yes its here, and this one could be good I hope! Outland was an underachieving Sci-Fi film starring Sean Connery as a Marshall stationed on Io; Jupiters nearest moon. (I knew that astrology course would one day be of interest!) He is forced to test himself by taking on the corrupt officials in the mining colony where the action takes place. The original trailer, not subtle but funky, love Connery scot in space accent! The film was a thinly disguised western in space, but never rea... Well hi there one and all, firstly thank you thank you, and once more thank you, for making the site a little but more popular last month with more join ups and hits. Got to love you guys, as its hard to keep it fresh sometimes. I hope that we stay in touch, an the feedback is always appreciated. From the Japanese lovers of haiku, to the Texan admirers of Liam Neeson, you know who you are.I love films that flip through opposite sides of the coin, we have two films soon, that both feature them... It with a twinge of sadness as well as nostalgia that I report that the director John Hughes has passed away from a heart attack at the age of 59. The director is noted for the stream of classics that he worked on throughout the eighties that successfully managed to blend humour and teen angst, with genuinely loveable characters and watch-ability. He would often avoid interviews and would rather let his work speak for him. His biggest commercial success was as a writer of “Home Alone” which w... Read Full Story
Whilst the world focuses on a San Diego sci fi convention, and the info given away therein I have decided to step to the back and state that Jonathon Ross this weekend had some wonderful interviews on his show. Quentin Tarentino gave a must see for anyone looking to watch his new flick “Inglorious Basterds” as well Denzel Washington doing a fantastic pitch to the British team from Dragons Den. I love the show and Ross’s film nerd status does wonders to get the best from his guests. Here are a... Read Full Story
Peter Walsh a.k.a “MoledMC” is a unique individual amongst the hundreds of entertainers that use Youtube and Myspace to promote themselves. We came across the quirky gent a while back, and severely enjoyed his unique blend of impressions and comedy. His work is consciously inspired by actors and films, and his performances come across as unique and entertaining. Not many people can hit Michael Caine, Christopher Eccleston and Tom Cruise note perfect, and throw in some Terry Wogan and Christian... Read Full Story
The morning thought. The sound of 80’s soundtracks always inspire me to write, reminiscing about old films, or just chatting with friends about my youth. I always wonder if I was lucky enough to be born into a golden era of film. Well nostalgia I am told is something that we all go through when we long for the times of yesterday, and are apparently (a scientist has said) denying ourselves adulthood and emotional maturity!I don’t believe it!Well actually I do, and I can empathise, I have an ir...
