Photo by Sarej Thanks to Debbie for this Frugal Baby Tip! I use vinyl camping bags I bought from Wal-Mart. They are only about $4.97 and work really well. I just wash them by themselves after I wash the dipes (so the Velcro dipes don't stick to the vinyl of the bags, I had this problem even after fastening up the Velcro dipes). Photo by woodsy After suffering the heartbreak of years of infertility, scores of US couples claim their dreams came true due to a newly developed therapy. Over one hundred babies have been born or are expected by women diagnosed infertile after receiving a new physical therapy treatment, similar to a deep massage. The new treatment uses no drugs or surgery, according to its developers, physical therapist Belinda Wurn, and massage therapist Larry Wurn. It was first used in Florida as an... Read Full Story
Photo by foodie TODDLERS and young children can make a splash at Wishaw Sports Centre while raising money for charity throughout May and June. Tommy’s Splashathon encourages parents to have fun with their little ones as they splash a length or width of their local pool, and the baby charity hopes this year’s event is bigger than ever. Tommy’s Splashathon, which is backed by baby swimwear specialists Splash About and First Choice holidays, last year raised £20,000 to fund research into the... Read Full Story
Photo by www.epinions.com Thanks to Suzie for this Frugal Baby Tip! I read this in a magazine, and was amazed because my father used the same stuff, and it clear up a skin condition that lasted him about 4 years. The article said (and this was for cradle cap) to get a soap called Cetaphil, and soap up scalp and leave on for 5 minutes and rinse. Repeat once a day till gone. Although they said it should be gone in a day or two! I haven't tried it myself or anything, (for cradle cap), but... Read Full Story
Photo by stylesr1 By Randine Lewis MSOM, L.Ac., Ph.D. Regarding the human egg: How old is too old? Perhaps we are asking the wrong question. Remember the psychological argument about nature vs. nurture? Let’s rephrase the topic altogether. How can we help women in their mature reproductive years produce healthy children? I propose that the answer is found in the nature vs. nurture discussion. Nurturing the follicle in the 120 days before ovulation will produce a healthy egg, free of... Read Full Story
Photo by www.canada.com Just two cups of coffee a day doubles a pregnant woman's risk of miscarriage, new research shows. In what is believed the clearest and strongest evidence yet linking caffeine to miscarriage, California researchers who followed more than 1,000 pregnant women found those who consumed 200 mg or more of caffeine daily -- the equivalent of two cups of regular coffee, or five, 12-ounce cans of caffeinated pop -- had twice the risk of miscarriage as women who avoided... Here are plain facts about miscarriage and how you can prepare your body physically to avoid some of the health pitfalls that bring about pregnancy loss. Photo by www.nzherald.co.nz A woman's voice becomes more attractive at the point in her monthly cycle when she is at her most fertile, a study of vocal changes during ovulation has found. If the findings can be replicated, they will add further weight to the theory that women give off subtle and unintentional cues about their fertility as part of an evolutionary battle centred on attractiveness and fidelity. The research found that men tend to find higher-pitched female voices more... Read Full Story
Photo by rrss Thanks to Karyn for this Frugal Baby Tip! In my experience, terrycloth has been the MOST absorbent material. Also, it is my *favorite* for at least two other reasons: (1) When wet, terry feels more pleasant to the touch (in my opinion) than wet flannel. Flannel, when wet, has a clammy feel that seems to kind of stick to the skin; I just don't like the feel of wet flannel. I think the loops on the terry seem to kind of hold much of the wetness slightly away from the skin... Read Full Story
