A newspaper poll says Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid faces formidable opposition next year when he seeks a fifth term. A survey of 400 registered voters for the Las Vegas Review-Journal released Sunday paints the Democratic incumbent as an underdog when matched against either of two possible Republicans rivals in the election. The poll, taken last week by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc., shows Reid lagging by as many as 11 percentage points against Danny Tarkanian. He had 49 percent to Reid's 38 percent. Tarkanian is a real estate professional and former UNLV basketball player. A separate matchup gave Nevada Republican chairman Sue Lowden ... Read Full Story
Let us turn our attention today from the train wreck unfolding in Carson City to another engine that has run off the tracks: The Republican Party’s effort to end the career of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The most damaging line to the GOP about Reid’s 2010 prospects came not from any liberal media types here but in the nationally respected Politico newspaper last week, in a piece that also appeared in Thursday’s Las Vegas Sun. “Few Republicans will say so publicly, but it’s increasingly looking like Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., is going to get a pass for reelection in 2010,” Alex ... The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory: On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research ... Read Full Story

With friends like these .. The Huffi ngton Post, a leftist blog, had a vicious piece about Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid . An excerpt from Bob Cesca : “ For too many years with Harry Reid at the helm, we’ve been watching as this ineffectual mope skulks his way around the Hill .. Comparing Harry Reid to the cartoon character Droopy Dog would be both a compliment to Reid and very much an insult to Droopy who, while being a forlorn slow-talker, was actually quite savvy and speedy for a canine with a sluggish metabolism. Harry Reid, on the other hand, is only ... Read Full Story
