Alexis Grigoropoulos

Alexis Grigoropoulos (1993-2008) was the 15-year-old Greek boy who was shot and killed by police in central Athens the night of Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008. His death sparked some of the worst riots Greece has seen in years.

A 15 year old ended up shot and later died when approximately 30 teenagers approached a police car hurling rocks at it in Exarchia, Greece a few weeks ago. The police said that they got out of the car and fired three warning shots, one of which somehow caused the boy’s death. However, witnesses claimed that the officers aimed at the youths and the accounts were posted on indymedia.org , which is a popular website for left-leaning youth.
