Balmain Spring 2010 Collection Balmain has maintained the same level of sexiness in his spring 2010 collection as he did in his previous one. Stylish, glamorous yet grungy looking, Balmain's 2010 spring summer collection is worth admiring as it enchants the eyes at first sight. A heavy name in the fashion industry, Balmain has yet again managed to create a very fashionable collection for the 2010 spring summer season. Balmain has amazed with his fall winter fashion collection created due to the lovely dresses and combinations of elements transposed on the runway. The person responsible for Blamain's remarkable fashion creations is Christophe Decarnin, a ... Read Full Story

Galdiatrixes in minidresses that looked like they were made from the skins of freshly vanquished crocodiles and models that scintillated like human disco balls had the run of Paris' catwalks on Thursday as the City of Light's spring-summer 2010 collections moved into day two. Balmain, whose peaked shouldered jackets and minuscule second-skin dresses have made it the It Brand for jet-setting party girls, continued to deliver the goods, sending out peaked-shouldered jackets and minidresses in ragged-hemmed, cave girl leathers or warrior chain mail — much of it shorn of the usual sprinkling of rhinestones. Not to worry, though: Even without the Swarovski crystals, the ... Read Full Story

Well not exactly so. For those of you that are just as concerned about what designers wear just as much as their collections themseleves, you might have noticed in recent months that Christophe Decarnin was in dire need of something new. Back in January when Balmain Homm e was just a rumor that spread like wildfire and everyone was anxiously awaiting what the man of the moment would create for men, I predicted that Decarnin would essentially clone himself and water his own personal style down into the label - and that he did. After having a rocky first start in menswear, for Spring ... Read Full Story

Christophe Decarnin has always done excellent job for glittery, and highly padded shoulder designs. It’s a known fact that cost of his single jacket (costing $9,000 or thereabouts), could pay for an entire wardrobe of Balmain knockoffs for ten teenage girls. But it hardly matters for fashion enthusiasts who are crazy for Christophe designs. For Spring 2010, Decarnin brought another whammy of a no-brainier blockbuster. His army of sleek-limbed, sizzling super-girls strode out with huge-shouldered, metal-epaulet military tailcoats with tattered T-shirts, and bullet belts slanged around artfully stained and holed jeans. Singer Claudia Leitte was certainly paying attention to the European shows this season: she showed up at a concert in Bahia on Saturday night wearing her very own custom-made knockoff of Balmain's look #2. After copying basically every single outfit Beyoncé has worn on stage in the past, I should have seen it coming. And the best part of it all is that she could probably actually afford to have Christophe Decarnin design her costumes if she...

By Hilary Alexander, Christophe Decarnin, the designer at Balmain, who launched this winter’s craze for ripped and torn jeans for £1,000, and strong-shouldered military jackets, emblazoned with crystals, with a price tag of up to £7,000, is at it again. For next season, the rock ‘n’ roll designer has army surplus in his sights. His spring/summer 2010 collection, featuring catwalk stars such as Carmen Kass and Daria Werbowy, was a cross...

Let's hope these hip cutouts don't catch on. The last thing the world needs is an exposed-side-butt trend. W wasted no time getting its hands on Christophe Decarnin's spring 2010 Balmain collection. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot Demi in the militant loincloth frock that walked second in the fashion show (on Anja Rubik) for the December issue. She looks great, but — surprise! — there appears to be lots of Photoshopping at play. For...

WWD has a long article today about how amazing Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin is. Sales of Balmain's women's ready-to-wear have doubled each season since Decarnin arrived in 2006. The fashion-loving masses still find themselves in the throes of Balmainia, a syndrome made all the more elitist by the label's prices — $2,000 for ripped jeans, $8,900 for jackets, $5,900 for capes. The spring 2010 show just walked in Paris, but did Decarnin...
