Emma Watson is the New Face of Burberry

Besides starring in one of the biggest movies of the year, the highly anticipated Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Emma Watson has also been signed up to be the new face for Burberry.

The budding fashionista has already been shot by Karl Lagerfeld and was recently spotted with fellow fashion maven Kate Bosworth at a party for fashion house Rodarte.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey praised Watson's chic look:
Emma has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. I felt Emma would be strong enough to hold the campaign as the only girl, and I loved the idea of her being surrounded by these young, cool British guys. Of course, branching in the adult world of fashion while starring in one of the biggest children's movie franchises in the past decade isn't easy, and its a balance that Watson is still learning to strike.

Watson was sheduled to shoot a  racy photo spread for W magazine, but Potter producers had to have her tone it down. According to a source speaking to the Daily Mail:
They wanted Emma to do something raunchy but the Harry Potter producers told her it was too risqué and the shoot was softened. As far as they are concerned, until the Potter series has finished she is still schoolgirl Hermione Granger. With the final part of the film not scheduled to be released until July 15th, 2011, it seems like Watson will be keeping it tame for at least the next few years.
