Last.fm besides being one of the most popular online radio and music communities, also has one of the most popular online music APIs. Possibly the most popular. Each month we continue to see a variety of new music-themed mashups added to our directory built on the Last.fm API . In the first three weeks of this month alone there have been 5 more Last.fm mashups added. That means that out of 231 music mashups at least 84 use the Last.fm API . What do you get when you combine 36 different APIs into 28 different applications? You get this week’s additions to our mashup directory . Some of the less frequently seen APIs include Freebase , Capitol Words , MTV , as well as DigitalBucket . Which API was used most? It was the Twitter API , used in 10 mashups this week. IBM has announced a mashup integration that fits Cognos Business Intelligence with a new version of the company's Mashup Center . The two services fit together to create an environment that leverages IBM's existing technology base with a service that's right out of a play book for social computing.
