(Getty Images)more pics »In recent months I have not been often driven to the blog to write. And then when I am it seems I'm more easily led by rants than raves. And even though I do actually enjoy The Rachel Zoe Project this post is no exception: Bravo, I have a MAJOR bone to pick!
As a tv viewer with a hyperactive hypercritical eye towards editing, I find that I am pulled to extremes with regards to gratification. I find myself too often rewinding ad nauseum either to a)marvel at a job exceptionally done, (an unexpected or thoughtful transition for example), or b) marvel at how insulted I am that something made it onto my tv set. I am however, in either case stimulated one way or the other.
So when I had to rewind ten minutes to see if my eyes truly did not deceive me when I saw stylist and star
Rachel Zoe and her assistant Taylor wear the same outfits a supposed two days apart should my reaction have been, 'way to go, Bravo, mission accomplished, I'm still on my toes!'

No. I don't think the average viewer watches reality this way, with attention to editing and continuity that can drive one insane if any level of attention is paid. So though its not meant to goad us, it seems this week you have delivered something so wrong and insulting that it simply mustn't go unrebuked.
If a top Hollywood stylist AND her assistant were dressed a certain way one day, and then both dressed the exact same way a supposed "two days later," am I as a viewer supposed to think that this is an ironic coincidence, or should I have already forgotten what they were wearing twelve mintues ago? Or better yet, while watching this fashion driven show perhaps I should have been so distracted by the oversized jewelry, starbucks cups and red carpet gowns that I should have never noticed what the stylist and her assistant have on their bodies not once but twice in 20 minutes!?
By the end of the show I wanted to vomit. When Rachel was watching Debra Messing on the red carpet at SAG, she (and Taylor) were dressed the same way as they had been "two days earlier" when the studio flooded. Am I simply not even meant to feel like I've watched a linear, if not realistic, version of the events?
I'm confused and insulted. Come on, I know its not real but couldn't you at least humor me and pretend?
