Making History.   Democrats have opened up a huge "history gap" with the Republicans, lately rubbing their history-making noses in Republican's static faces. Democrats chose the theme "making history" for their California convention and may do the same for Denver. The candidates themselves have mentioned their historicity in debates. The federal Liberal party continues to hurtle along the tracks to replace Stephane Dion, (no relation to the talented Celine Dion, Marcel Dion, or Dion DiMucci,) with the rehabilitated Comrade Bob Rae, (no relation to the talented Corrine Bailey Rae, Martha Rae, or Rae Dawn Chong.) I was wondering why, for such a cheap-ish movie, The Squeeze looks so good. Its budget almost doubled, allowing for some really expensive looking sequences on an aircraft carrier, a decent amount of New York photography and… I don’t know, something else. It also almost starred Jenny Wright in the Rae Dawn Chong part, which would have been an improvement of sorts (Mrs. Potato Head would have given a more animate performance than Chong) but not enough of one to make the movie work.
