Sofia Coppola’s inspiration board was featured in French Vogue a few years ago and of course I had to save the article and share it as she is a huge inspiration behind Miseducated. Let’s escape to Sofia*land~ Everyone in my family is in the film business; I knew I wanted to be creative and it was important in my family to be artistic. ~Sofia Coppola Read Full Story

Sofia Coppola’s films are noted for the care she takes in vividly showing the scenery as well as the story. Her Marie Antoinette , for example, was almost entirely about the clothing and opulent palaces, while Lost in Translation was as much about Tokyo and the Park Hyatt where the characters stayed as the characters themselves. Now, in her new film, Sofia is making a movie “starring” the Chateau Marmont. The film will star Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning, Dakota’s 11-year old sister, and will be about an actor (Dorff) whose daughter comes to visit him at the Chateau. The writer-director who shot her ... Read Full Story

If you are into new fragrances and also Paris Fashion Week, you definitely need to be in on this new commercial for Miss Dior Chérie L'Eau fragrance starring model/actress Maryna Linchuk (check the vocals by Brigitte Bardot. The song featured is 'Moi Je Joue' ) Starting out with a bit of an homage to Audrey Hepburn meets Leslie Caron, this is a cute piece that is fun, flirty, whimsical and sweetly sexy. The clothing, the locations (everything is in Paris), the food, sunglasses, even the balloons all make a keen statement of style and freshness. Perfect statement when you need an upbeat fragrance for ... Read Full Story

sorry for the late reporting this week.  I'm sick.  Yes, Editor is sick. ugh.  Anyway, I'm very very happy to start this week's articles with an entertainment news item.  We don't often do entertainment news, reserving our weekly posts for observations and reviews. However, I, chief coko, am way too excited about this one piece of news and I had to share it with you.  Just in case you cared as much as I do... Variety magazine is reporting that Sofia Coppola has booked the haunting Chateau Marmont (is it the same one Ms. Lohan lives in?) for a film with Elle Fanning (Dakota's ... Read Full Story

Hannah Hall - Cecilia Lisbon From a completely unscientific survey I carried among my friends, there are basically three ways you can feel about this movie: It is a critique to the life in the suburbs, Christian (particularly Catholic) conservatism, and the endless tediousnesss of middle class life. The movie also shows that American are just peeping toms waiting for the next scandal to happen. It is a movie without any specific purpose or morale, but it is a good way to spend an hour and a half. It is a passionate story written by a woman (actually, the movie is an adaptation of ... You can head on over to Collider to see all of the images, but I thought I'd profile a few of the projects that I'm more looking forward to.     Jeffery Eugenides’ first novel, The Virgin Suicides, appeared on the scene in 1993. In 1999 Sofia Coppola adapted it for the screen in her directorial debut of the same name. Coppola wrote the screenplay for the film and was fiercely protective over the project.  She was concerned that Nick Gomez’s script (the director who had a shot at writing the screenplay before her) had upped the sex and violence quotient and would not be an authentic...
