As expected, the rapper T.I. , whose real name is something, received a one year prison sentence for carrying illegal firearms in Georgia in 2007.  Rolling Stones has better info: While federal sentencing guidelines mandated that Tip serve at least four years and nine months for his crime, the rapper’s legal team worked out an experimental plea bargain that allowed T.I. to stay under house arrest, pay a $100,000 fine and serve 1,000 hours of community service, with another 500 hours due after release.     Details of T.I.’s impending incarceration were released over the weekend.   The rapper will serve his federal prison sentence on weapons charges in Arkansas, according to the Associated Press, and he’ll get credit for 305 days of home detention that he already served – which means his actual time behind bars will likely last only two months.         The artist, born Clifford J. Harris Jr., must report to Forrest City’s low-security federal prison by noon on May 26, according to court filings.     Hip-hip star T.I. has dumped rapper ALFAMEGA from his Grand Hustle Records label - following a string of allegations about the star’s history as a police informant.   Alfamega was last week at the centre of allegations he passed information to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration during the investigation of a heroin trafficker.   The reports were published by the Smoking Gun and have now led T.I. - currently serving a prison term over weapons charges - to ditch his protege from his music label.
