Growing controversy on Palin: Seahawks or Steelers?
Seth Koelloen, reporter for NorthWest Sports Magazine has uncovered the truth about Sarah and Todd Palin: They are Seattle Seahawk fans. Koelloen got the inside scoop by speaking to Tom Spindler, President of the Mat-Su (Matanuska and Susitna Valleys) Seahawkers boosters club near Wasilla. He wrote: “She joined about two or three years ago,” Tom told me. “Her husband Todd is the one who enrolled them.”
Palin and her sports fanatic husband Todd, have also been spotted at the Tailgaters Sports Bar in Wasilla during Seahawks Sunday games.
But Dimitry Vassilarros, who interviewed Palin back in July for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reported that she was a Steelers fan. Wrote Vassilarros:
She adopted the Pittsburgh Steelers because of the team's success in the 1970s and because there are no major professional teams in her state.
