The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation last week released its latest Index of Entrepreneurial Activity . The Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity indicated that overall entrepreneurial activity increased in the United States last year. In 2008, an average of 0.32 percent of the adult population, or 320 out of 100,000 adults, created a new business each month. In 2007, the overall entrepreneurial activity rate was 0.30 percent. The latest index showed the biggest increase in entrepreneurial activity since the foundation began tracking the activity in 1996.
