*yawn* I got up at 4.30am, people. To go to my favorite H&M store, crossing my fingers on the way there that there woulnd’t be too long a line.
As it turns out, there wasn’t a line at all: about 35 people were just standing messily in front of the doors, blocking the sidewalk and leaving not much room for late comers to line up behind them.
... and here I was thinking Swiss people were organized
When I suggested that we stand more tidily and wrap around the corner, so that ... Read Full Story

I am a huge fan of Sienna Miller’s – her style, not her personality. Which I cannot judge, because I don’t know her. Though if I had to judge, the thing with Balthazar Getty woulnd’t speak highly of her.
Anyways – I LOVE her style. Like most British peeps, it’s a bit kooky at times, but spot-on most of the time. Great makeup, perfect accessorizing, and especially that fantastic, boho-meets-rocker style of hers, which never looks too put together, too studied, but it i... Read Full Story

The weather has been pretty miserable for the best part of a month here. Rain, rain and more rain, with a precious few, tentative, teasing sunny days in between.
I am sort of moody to start with, and the weather just adds to it. I don’t have it down to a science or anything, but I am more likely to be in a bad mood when it’s bad weather – though one might argue, what is ‘bad’ weather to me might be good weather to some, so for the sake of clarity and argument, letR... What do you want from a shoe? You want it to look good, no doubt. You also likely want it to be comfortable, and you probably want it to be wearable, something that will spend more time on your feet than in the box. And undoubtedly, you will want it to be worth whatever you paid for it.
That’s a lot to ask. Isn’t it? Do you think it’s possible to find shoes with all those attributes? It is. Tricky, but possible.
Many seem to think that it’s easier to find comfortable f... Read Full Story

Disclaimer: this post was written on a whim, several weeks ago, and never published because it felt a little too cheeky and borderline obnoxious. However, considering that I am currently wallowing in a pathetic lack of energy and inspiration, this post now now being published because, well, what the hell.
I wish I was skinnier. Or rather slimmer, since I am not skinny at all.
Don’t you? Really, being honest here, between us gals. If not skinnier, then surely something else. Everyone has... Read Full Story

My husband thinks I hate bikes. I don’t hate bikes, I like them… a normal amount. I can ride a bike, but I don’t own one. My daughter owns a bike, and I have no problem with her riding it, as long as she wears her helmet. However, I won’t allow her (as long as I can control that) to become one of them.
Allow me to backtrack a little: when I lived in Copenhagen, I was used to seeing lots of bikes on the road. It was somewhat surprising that so many people would use a bi... Read Full Story

Gwen said it first, but don’t we all need one? A sweet escape? I know I did, after the move. And my husband must have understood just how much I needed it (or maybe he needed it too), because when I mentioned that it would have been nice to go away for a few days somewhere to chill and not think about boxes-reorganizing-furniture for a couple of days, he started looking for weekend trips we could take.
After proposing a location on the Swiss Alps that we had visited before and receiving... Read Full Story
