E-510 was my first DSLR and using that over the years i have been very satisfied and happy with the 510 especially due to the in body image stabilization and lens line-up. This toy looked like a lot of fun and was priced reasonably so I ordered 2 of them for gifts, the 1st one I gave and it didn’t work, so I thought it might be the batteries, which it was, but the kind of batteries that it requires was more expensive than the toy. Hewlett-Packard bills this dv3 as an entertainment machine but to be brutally honest, I couldn’t quite figure out why. Seems more like a standard laptop to me. The Altec Lansing SRS speakers for example, are good at creating a pseudo-surround effect, but they still sound tinny. The HDMI port can be useful in connecting the dv3 to a large-screen TV but even that’s more often than not found on more business-oriented laptops these days. There are a few things that are not in the documentation or made clear in the advertising that may impact your use. 1)As mentioned in an earlier review, the application this device talks to must have an internet connection back to the Eye-Fi server to be set up. 2)The Eye-Fi will not connect to an ad-hoc network, i.e. you cannot just have it talk directly to your laptop. I had high hopes for this device. I had looked around fairly thoroughly for a USB drive that I could carry on my key chain and that had a design to protect against losing the cap.This seemed to fit the bill.Unfortunately, the ring for attaching the drive to other items is apparently too small to fit on a standard key chain, and broke within two weeks. This is a great, compact flash drive. I would recommend getting as big of a flash drive as you can reasonably afford- you’ll be surprised how useful it is if you are moving between computers.Its far better than dealing a couple of CD/DVD-Rs or file transfers.I have no need for Sandisks U3 software, so I reformatted the drive.After that, I installed Fedora Live so I can boot from the drive directly into linux. I bought these phones for my 70 year old mother. She has a difficult time with most of the newer, smaller phones; both in setting them up and using them. Although the 62-page user manual intimidated her a bit, she was able to set this phone system up herself. She loves it–the big buttons, the speaker phone, and the special emergency 911 button! I bought this component to take advantage of all the features of my Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR6 TV and Sony BDP-S550 1080p Blu-ray Player. The integration into my system was as easy as possible with the HDMI cables. One HDMI from the Blu-ray player and one from the Comcast Hi-Def cable box into the A/V receiver.
