Around 1119, nearly two decades after the First Crusade (1095-1099), Hugues de Payens and Godfrey de Saint-Omer, two French noblemen and Crusade veterans, gathered a group of nine knights to create a monastic Order under the approval of King Baldwin II of Jerusalem. The Shroud of Turin A conspiracy theorist couldn’t ask for anything more: evidence that links the Shroud of Turin to the Knights Templar. Tomar was created on land donated by Afonso Henriques in return for the Knights’ help in the Reconquest of ... Read Full Story

They were ordered never to retreat unless the host of the enemy was greater than 3 to 1. While Europe trembled at the notion of Mohammedan conquest, they stood as a bulwark against those whose ultimate aim was to Islamize our race and relegate Christianity to the "extinct religion" category on the game show Jeopardy! The history of Christendom would be incomplete, devoid of recounting their selfless intrepidity during the period referred to in the Middle East as ... Read Full Story
